According to Search Engine Journal these are the top SEO trends for 2020.
BERT
This is the name given to the new algorithm launched by Google. SEO needs to focus on this user-focused optimisation and the technical delivery of content.
“SEO’s need to bear in mind the fundamentals of clean architecture and content deliver.” says Kelly Stanze, Search Strategist, Hallmark.
HIGH QUALITY CONTENT
Anna Crowe, Assistant Editor, Search Engine Journal, said there is one thing that has been and will continue to be the lifeblood of SEO:
Content.
“Content affects everything in SEO,” Crowe said. “From your site structure and internal linking strategy to the types of links you build.”
Good writing and optimised content will be key in SEO.
E-A-T
Expertise, Authoritativenenss and Trustworthiness – in 2020 Google will look at the overall reputation and E-A-T of
a company and the individuals who publish content for that company. The fight against fake news will be focused on – trust will be a big issue in terms of content.
STRUCTURED DATA
Search engines need to be given “hints” to understand a searcher’s intent so that it can deliver results, This means structuring data in a way that assists the search engines to understand what is on the page as well as how each element relates to the next on the page and how the pages relate to each other on the website.
